3 Steps to Boost Your Self-Image

How are you showing up to the world and more important for yourself?

Your self-image is essential to your overall happiness and well-being. It determines how you see yourself and how others perceive you.

When you have a positive self-image, you feel confident, empowered, and motivated to show up for yourself and the world as your best self. On the other hand, a negative self-image can lead to low self-esteem, anxiety, and even depression. It dims your self-awareness and doesn’t allow you to see that you are unique, valuable, and worthy of self-love and respect.

However, boosting your self-esteem can be challenging, especially in today's world, where we are constantly influenced by social and mass media who control the narrative and definition of beauty. We succumb and allow others to define our beauty. We soon find ourselves mentally and emotionally checking the boxes to meet their beauty standards. This is the moment we relinquish control and allow others to define our self-image.

Fortunately, you are in control of your self-image and here are a 3-steps follow to boost your self-image and make it a positive one:

Step 1: Know your beauty and glow by practicing self-care. Taking care of yourself is essential for your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This includes your basic getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, taking time for yourself to de-stress, and making yourself pretty every morning. Write down three things you find beautiful about yourself. When you take care of yourself, you feel better about yourself, you feel inspired and motivated to show up as your best self to the world.

Step 2: Know who you are and grow through self-awareness. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Let self-awareness lead you to focus on strengths. Write down your strengths and remind yourself of them regularly. This can help you feel more confident and improve your self-image.

Step 3: Know your foes and friends and flow. The people you surround yourself with have a significant impact on your self-image. So, it's time to Marie Kondo your relationships.  It is critical that you have positive and supportive people who lift you up and encourage you to show up as your authentic self and support your self-image.  Avoid people who bring you down or make you feel bad about yourself. Instead, create a relationship circle that sparks joy in your life!
